THE PRESIDENT WAS PRESENTED WITH LETTERS OF CREDENCE BY THE AMBASSADORS OF MONTENEGRO, THE DEMOCRATIC PEOPLE'S REPUBLIC OF KOREA AND BULGARIA

 


H.E. The President of Malta, Dr. Eddie Fenech Adami was presented with Letters of Credence by H.E. Mr. Darko Uskoković, Ambassador of Montenegro to Malta, H.E. Mr. Han Tae Song, Ambassador of the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea and H.E. Mr Atanas Mladenov, Ambassador of the Republic of Bulgaria to Malta.

 

Both ceremonies took place in the Ambassadors’ Room at The Palace, Valletta.

 

In the afternoon, the President of Malta and Mrs Fenech Adami hosted the newly accredited Ambassadors to an official luncheon at San Anton Palace.

Profile: H.E. Mr. Darko Uskoković, Ambassador of Montenegro.

 

The Ambassador was born in April 1961 in Niksic, Montenegro.

 

In 1986 he graduated at the University of Veljko Vlahovic, Faculty of Economy in Podgorica. A year later he started a business career with IBM in Scotland and worked in the cost control and planning department.

 

During the period 1988 – 1989 he was appointed as Commercial Officer in the company “Montenegroexpress” in Budva and then served as Chief and Commercial Director in the branch office of the company “Montextours” in Podgorica.

 

Between 1993 and 1995 he worked with the Agency for Housing the Refugees as part of the UNHCR programme in Podgorica. He was then appointed as Manager in the Montenegrin Agency for Economic Restructuring and Foreign Investments in Podgorica up to 1998. In this year he then joined the government of Montenegro and performed the duty of Prime Ministers’ Chief of Cabinet until July 2001 when he was then appointed as Minister of Economy by the decision of the Parliament of the Republic of Montenegro. (He was reappointed as Minister of Economy in January 2003 until June 2005.

 

He had other high ranking positions such as Ambassador of the State Union of Serbia and Montenegro in Rome, Italy (September 2005 – June 2006) and Ambassador of Montenegro in Rome as from December 2006.

 

The Ambassador is married and has two children.

Profile: H.E. Mr. Han Tae Song, Ambassador of the Democratic People’s Republic of North Korea.

 

The Ambassador H.E. Mr. Han Tae Song was born on the 1st November, 1958.

 

He graduated from Korea’s Foreign Language University in 1980. From 1980-1985 he worked as an officer at the North Korean Ministry of Foreign Ministry and subsequently Secretary of the Democratic People’s Republic of North Korea.

 

Between 1985 and 1989 he was reassigned as a desk officer with the Democratic People’s Republic of North Korea within the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.  Between 1989 and 1992 Ambassador Song served as a Second Secretary at the Democratic People’s Republic of North Korea’s Embassy in Zimbabwe.

 

He then served as Advisor at the Democratic People’s Republic of North Korea in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs from 1992 to 2000. During the same time period he was also the First Secretary of the Democratic People’s Republic of North Korea’s Permanent Representative at the Food and Agricultural Organization (FAO).

 

From there he went on to become the Section Chief and Deputy Director General at the Democratic People’s Republic of North Korea’s Foreign Ministry.

Profile: H.E. Mr. Atanas Mladenov, Ambassador of Bulgaria.

 

The Ambassador was born in October 1960 in Aytos, Bulgaria.

 

He studied at a French language school in Sofia between 1974 – 1979 from where he graduated with honours and gold medal.  In 1987 he then obtained a Masters Degree from the Institute for International Relations in Moscow.  He then followed a public administration course by KOICA Programme, Republic of Korea in 1994. The Ambassador furthered his studies in various universities in Europe and also in Korea.

 

His diplomatic career started in 1987 when he served as Attaché at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. In 1989 was appointed as Attaché at the Embassy of Bulgaria in Pyongyang and two years later was then appointed as Charge d’Affaires and then as Third Secretary within the same Embassy.  Between 1993 and 1995 he worked as Second Secretary at the Department for “Asia, Australia, Oceania and Latin America” within the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.  Between 1995 and 1998 he became Deputy Chief of Mission at the Embassy of Bulgaria in Seoul.

 

In 1998 he was posted at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs as First Secretary and Desk Officer for USA and Canada, “Europe and North America” and a year later he became Deputy National Coordinator for the Central European Initiative, “Europe and North American Department” at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.  In 2000 Ambassador Mladenov was appointed as Chief of Section, “Asia, Australia and Oceania” Department within the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

 

He was posted in the Embassy of Bulgaria in Rome from 2000 up to 2004 where he served as Deputy Chief of Mission, accredited also as counsellor for Malta and San Marino. Since 2004 he has been occupying the post of Director, at the Directorate “Europe II” and Minister Plenipotentiary at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

 

The Ambassador speaks Italian, English, French, Russia, Korean and also Spanish. He is married with two children.
