The President of Malta, H.E. Dr. Edward Fenech Adami, was presented with the letters of commission by H.E. Mr. Iqbal Haider, High Commissioner of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan.

The ceremony took place in the Ambassadors’ Room at The Palace, Valletta.

The High Commissioner, H.E Mr. Iqbal Haider  was born in October 1949 and holds an M.Sc. Degree in Strategic Studeis from Quaid-eAzam, University of Islamabad, a B.Sc (Hons) from Karachi University and a B.Sc. degree  from Peshawar University.

The High Commissioner had a successful career in the military field and had held various important command and staff position in Pakistan Air Force and he holds the title of Air Vice Marshal.

He held various appointments including those of Air Attaché in India during the period September 1989 and January 1993 and also that of Director General at Chaklala.

The High Commissioner is fluent in English, Urdu, Hindi and Arabic.
