THE PRESIDENT IS PRESENTED WITH CREDENTIALS BY THE AMBASSADOR OF THE REPUBLIC OF ARGENTINA AND THE AMBASSADOR OF THE UNITED ARAB EMIRATES


The President of Malta, H.E. Dr. Edward Fenech Adami, was presented with the letters of credence by H.E. Victorio Maria Jose Taccetti, Ambassador of the Republic of Argentina and H.E. Abdulhamid Abdulfatah Kazim, Ambassador of the United Arab Emirates. The ceremony took place in the Ambassadors’ Room at The Palace, Valletta.

 

This afternoon, the President and Mrs. Fenech Adami will host the newly accredited Ambassadors to an official luncheon at San Anton Palace.

 

The curriculum vitae of H.E. Victorio Maria Jose Taccetti and H.E. Abdulhamid Abdulfatah Kazim follow.

H.E. Victorio Maria Jose Taccetti was born in Buenos Aires, Argentina in 1943.

 

In 1965 he obtained a Law Honorary Diploma from the Universidad de Salvador in Buenos Aires. He furthered his studies by specialising in International Economic Relations at the University of Florence in Italy. In 1988 he obtained Masters in Political Sciences from the University of Houston in Texas.

During the period 1965 – 1975 he practised his profession of Lawyer. His diplomatic career started in 1973 when he became Vice-Consul within the Foreign Service. During the period 1976 – 1992 he was given various consular assignments including those in Houston and New York amongst others. In 1992 he was promoted Ambassador. He had several high-ranking positions within the Foreign Service including those of Ambassador in Mexico from 1994 – 1999, Ministry of Education Counsellor in 2000 and Chancellor’s Head of Secretary in 2002. He was then appointed as Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Argentina to Italy.

 

The Ambassador speaks English, Italian, French and Portuguese. He is married with Maria Lucia Nesta and has three children.

H.E. Abdulhamid Abdulfatah Kazim was born in Dubai in 1957.

 

The Ambassador obtained a B.A in Political Science from the Muskingdom College in Ohio in 1982.

His diplomatic career started in 1982 when he was appointed Third Secretary at the Diplomatic and Consular Corps, General Department for Political Affairs. He was appointed First Secretary in 1988 and Counsellor in 1992. He held various high-ranking positions including those of Minister Plenipotentiary, First Grade Status and Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the U.A.E. to the Republic of Italy in 2004. He also participated in several Arab and International Conferences and Meetings.

 

The ambassador is married with four children.
