THE PRESIDENT IS PRESENTED WITH CREDENTIALS BY THE AMBASSADOR OF KAZAKHSTAN AND THE AMBASSADOR OF BRASIL
The President of Malta, H.E. Dr. Edward Fenech Adami, was presented with the Letters of Credence by H.E Mr. Almaz Khamzayev, Ambassador of the Republic of Kazakhstan and by H.E. Mr. Luciano Ozorio Rosa, Ambassador of the Federative Republic of Brasil.
The ceremony took place in the Ambassadors’ Room at the Palace, Valletta.
This afternoon, the President and Mrs. Fenech Adami will host the newly accredited Ambassadors to an official luncheon at the San Anton Palace.

H.E. Mr. Almaz Khamzayev was born in December, 1955 in Taraz.
The Ambassador studied at the Almaty Pedagogical Institute of Foreign Languages and also at the Diplomatic Academy of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in the USSR.
His diplomatic career started in 1978 as Second Secretary of the Protocol Section of the MFA, and subsequently being appointed Second Secretary of Press and Information Section and First Secretary, Assistant to the Minister of Foreign Affairs.
In 1984 he became Head of the Protocol Section, and Head of the Press and Information Section of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. Other high ranking positions followed such as Councillor of the Embassy of the Republic of Kazakhstan in the USA and Minister-Councillor of the Embassy of the Republic of Kazakhstan in the United Kingdom.
During the period 1998 – 2004 he was appointed Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Kazakhstan to the Kingdom of Spain and also served as the Permanent Representative of the Republic of Kazakhstan to the World Tourism Organisation. He has been serving as the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Kazakhstan to the Republic of Italy since 2004.
The Ambassador is married and he speaks English and Spanish.

H.E. Mr. Luciano Ozorio Rosa was born in December 1939 in Rio de Janeiro.
The Ambassador served as Second Lieutenant of the Marine Reserve in 1961. He graduated with a Bachelor of Law in 1963 and three years later he participated in an Intensive Training Course in Commercial Promotion in 1976. He furthered his studies in 2003 by undertaking a High Studies Course in Politics and Strategy.
His diplomatic career started in 1963 as Third Secretary. He then held various high ranking positions within the diplomatic corp which includes amongst others that of Director of the Near East Division in 1979 and Minister first Category in 1995.
He was appointed to serve in various embassies which includes that of Rome (1976-70), Cairo and Second Secretary (1970-72), Brussels as First Secretary (1977 – 79) and Minister Counsellor in The Hague (1985 – 88) and Buenos Aires (1988 – 91) amongst others. He served as Ambassador in Budapest (1997 – 2002).
Mr. Ozorio Rosa served in various missions which includes, amongst others, that of being part of a working Group Brazil – Argentina on Nuclear Politics in 1988, 1989 and 1990.
