THE PRESIDENT IS PRESENTED WITH THE LETTERS OF CREDENCE BY THE AMBASSADORS OF THAILAND AND SUDAN
H.E. Dr. Edward Fenech Adami, President of Malta, was presented with the letters of credence by H.E. Mr. Chatchawad Charstuwan, Ambassador of Thailand and H.E. Mr. Saeed Saad Mahajoub Saad, Ambassador of Sudan.
The ceremony took place in the Ambassadors’ Room at The Palace, Valletta. This afternoon, the President and Mrs. Fenech Adami will host the newly accredited Ambassadors to an official luncheon at San Anton Palace.

H.E. Mr. Chatchawed Chartsuwan was born in October 1949 and is married to Mrs. Valentin Charstuwan.
He studied at the Thammasat University in Bangkok where he graduated B.A. in International Relations. He continued his studies in the United States of America where he obtained an M.A. in History from the Clark University in Massachusetts.

The President with the Ambassador of Thailand
His diplomatic career started in 1971 when he joined the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. A year later he served as attaché in the South and West Asia Division at the Department of Political Affairs. He held various high-ranking positions including those of Third and Second Secretary at the Royal Thai Embassy in Washington D. C., First Secretary in Royal Thai Embassy in Manila and Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Thailand to the Kingdom of Cambodia. In 2003 he was appointed Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Thailand to the Hellenic Republic.

H.E. Mr. Saeed Saad Mahjoup Saad was born in 1938 in Wadmedani. He is a B.A graduate of the University of Khartoum and is the holder of an M.A qualification in Development from the University of Leicester (UK).

The President presented with letters of credence from the Ambassador of Sudan
He held various diplomatic positions including that of Deputy Resident Representative of the Republic of the Sudan to the United Nations (1976-1980), Ambassador of the Republic of the Sudan to Japan (1983-1988), Ambassador of the Republic of Sudan to the European Union, Belgium and Luxembourg (1990-1993) and the Directorship of Protocol; Ministry of Foreign Affairs (1996-2004). He was appointed Ambassador of Sudan to the Libyan Arab Jamahiriya on March 2004.
The Ambassador speaks English, Arabic and French. He is married and has three children.
