THE PRESIDENT IS PRESENTED WITH CREDENTIALS BY THE AMBASSADORS OF THE RUSSIAN FEDERATION, THE SLOVAK REPUBLIC AND THE KINGDOM OF SAUDI ARABIA

 


The President of Malta, H.E. Dr. Edward Fenech Adami, was presented with the Letters of Credence by H.E. Andrey Granovsky, Ambassador of the Russian Federation, H.E. Mr. Stanislav Vallo, Ambassador of the Slovak Republic and H.E. Dr. Mohammed Al-Jarallah, Ambassador of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.

The ceremonies took place in the Ambassadors’ Room at The Palace, Valletta.

This afternoon, the President and Mrs. Fenech Adami will host the newly accredited Ambassadors to an official luncheon at San Anton Palace.

H.E. Mr. Andrey Evgenievich Granovsky was born in 1949.

The Ambassador graduated from Moscow State Institute of International Relations in 1971. He was candidate of sciences (history).

Ambassador Granovsky has been in the diplomatic Service since 1975. He worked in the USSR Embassy in India during the period 1975 – 1979 and also from 1980 to 1984. He was appointed the Permanent Mission of the Russian Federation to the United Nations in New York (1992 – 1996; 1998-2002 – as Deputy Permanent Representative).

He has been the Director of the Department of International Organisations of the MFA of Russia since 2002.

The Ambassador speaks Hindi, English and French.

He is married and has two sons.

H.E. Mr. Stanislav Vallo was born on November 15th in Zálesie, a small village southeast from Bratislava.

The Ambassador studied at the Faculty of Philosophy of the Comenius University in Bratislava a during the period  1970 – 1975 , were in the 3rd grade he chose Italian as the degree subject, diploma work on Francesco da Rimini in Italian literature. In 1975/76 he did military service.  

In 1991 he worked at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Czech and Slovak Federal Republic. A year later he was posted in Rome at the Czech and Slovak Embassy in Italy as first Counsellor and a later as Charge d’Affaires.  In 1995 he became First Counsellor of the Slovak Embassy to the Holy See.

Between 1996 and 1997 the Ambassador worked at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs as Head of Directorate General for Culture, Countrymen, Press and Human Dimension. He was then appointed as Head of Department of culture and Countrymen in the same Ministry.  Between 1999 and 2003 he worked at the Slovak Embassy to France as First Counsellor. He has been serving the post of Head of Department of Culture and Countrymen, at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Slovak Republic since 2003.

H.E. Dr. Mohammad Ibrahim Al-Jarallah was born in 1944 in Muzanab – Qasim.

The Ambassador obtained a Bachelor of civil engineering in Riydah University in 1972.  He has a Masters in Civil Engineering (Instruction Engineering), Stanford University, California – USA. He also obtained a Ph-D of Philosophy (Transportation and Transferring Engineering) from Michigan University (Ann Arbar), USA 1978.

Between 1978 and 1981 he worked as Assistant Professor at the Civil Engineering Department – Engineering College King Saud University. Between 1981 and 1984 he was chief of the department of Basic Science – Engineering College – King Saud University, and a Member of Research Council Administration. He was also General Manager of University Projects, and Responsible for the Implement of the project of the (University City) for the building of University of King Saud (1984 – 1992). He was Undersecretary of King Saud for the Branches Affairs, and Responsible for the improvement of the branches of the University in Qasim and Ibha region. He was then promoted to a Professor in Civil Engineering

Between 1992 and 1995 he worked as a General Manager at the Saudi Iqaria Company. He became a member of Consultation Council in 1994 and two years later he was appointed Minister of the Ministry of Rural and Municipal Affairs up to year 2003.

The Ambassador speaks English and French. He is married.
