Following enquires received, the Office of the President informs that President Eddie Fenech Adami has undergone an investigation and subsequent treatment following a recent non-specific chest discomfort.

A post-exercise myocardial perfusion scan performed on Thursday, 5 June 2008 revealed possible cardiac ischaema and a coronary angiogram was done on Friday wherein a stent was introduced to treat a critically narrowed coronary artery.  The procedure was successful.

A week's rest from official duties has been recommended by the medical team.
