On Wednesday, 9^th November, 2005, The President of Malta, H.E. Dr. Edward Fenech Adami and Mrs. Fenech Adami visited Barcelona.

During the third day of the official visit to Spain, The President had meetings with Mr. Pasqual Maragall, President of the Regional Government of Catalunya, Mr. Ernest Benach I Pascual Speaker of the Catalan Parliament and with Mr. Joan Clos, Mayor of Barcelona.

The President also visited the Sagrada Familia, the famous cathedral, the work of renowned architect Antonio Gaudí.

In the evening The President addressed a second Business Seminar organised by the Malta Enterprise similar to the one held in Madrid last Monday.

This morning the President will end his four day official visit to Spain by visiting MEDICHEM SL.

Medichem is considered in the Spanish pharma sector to be the leader of Active Pharmaceutical Ingredients (API) in Spain and its founder Alberto Stampa is renowned for his vision and foresight. Medichem has built an API plant at Hal Far in Malta and Combino Pharm has built a tab-letting plant next door at Hal Far too.

The President and Mrs. Fenech Adami will be returning to Malta this evening.
