The President of Malta accompanied by the Minister of Foreign Affairs, the Hon Michael Frendo, will be leaving Malta tomorrow, Monday 10 September 2007 for a two-day Official Visit to the Republic of Algeria.

During the visit, President Eddie Fenech Adami will have talks with the President of the People’s Democratic Republic of Algeria, H.E. Mr. Abdelaziz Bouteflika, the President of the National Council, H.E. Mr. Abdelkader Bensalah, the President the President of National People’s Assembly H.E. Mr. Abdelaziz Zairi, and the Head of Government, H.E. Mr. Abdelaziz Belkhadem.

A Business Delegation made up of twenty three businessmen and representatives of government and commercial entities will accompany The President. They will participate in a business forum and will be holding one-to-one meetings with the Algerian counterparts.  The business activities are being organised by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Malta.

The President will return to Malta on Tuesday, 11^th September 2007.

Dr George Hyzler will be the Acting President.
