The President of Malta, H.E. Dr. Edward Fenech Adami, leaves tomorrow for Rome where he will be having a Pontifical Audience with His Holiness Pope John Paul II on Friday 25^th June. This will be followed by a meeting with His Eminence Cardinal Angelo Sodano, Secretary of State.  On the day of his arrival in Rome, President Fenech Adami will be paying a courtesy call on H.E. Carlo Azeglio Ciampi, President of the Italian Republic. 

The President is also scheduled to make a courtesy call on H.M.E.H. Fra` Andrew Bertie, Prince and Grandmaster of the Sovereign Military Hospitaller Order of St. John of Jerusalem, of Rhodes and of Malta. The Grand Master will bestow upon the President the Collar of the Order Pro Merito Melitense.

The President will be accompanied by Mrs. Fenech Adami, the Hon. John Dalli, Minister of Foreign Affairs and Investment, H.E. Edward Melillo, Ambassador of Malta to Italy, Chev. Dr. Jimmy Farrugia Ambassador of Malta to the Holy See, Mr. Peter Portelli, Private Secretary to the President, Major David Mifsud AFM, Aide-de-Camp to the President and Mr. Frank Zammit, Assistant Private Secretary to the Minister of Foreign Affairs.

The President and his delegation will depart Italy on Saturday 26^th June.
