Lorelle Ebejer, a year six student at the St Ignatius College Luqa Primary School, is awarded the Pope John XXIII Kindness Award 2024.

President Myriam Spiteri Debono presented the award medal during a ceremony at Sant’Anton Palace.

During the presentation, it was mentioned how Lorelle, in silence but with great patience and love, became the best friend of an autistic boy. Her invaluable contribution helped this student progress significantly and make a major difference in his life, all within just a year of meeting him.

President Myriam Spiteri Debono recognised Father Dijonisju Mintoff’s contribution who, “Over the years
sought to influence the social fabric in our country through the Pope John XXIII Kindness Award.”

The President explained that, “Acceptance of one another is necessary because the main principle of helping where we see the need, as Lorelle did, is the basis of peace, even world peace.”

The Peace Laboratory organises this annual Award to also honour Pope John XXIII – the Pope who taught on world peace and the fostering of kindness in children, ensuring that kindness continues to flourish through the ages.
