This year’s Rockestra in aid of The Malta Community Chest Fund was the biggest one under the Presidency of President George Vella.
Thousands of people attended yesterday evening’s great show at the MFCC in Ta’ Qali, with the participation of more than 20 singers and The Malta Philharmonic Orchestra.
The President of Malta, George Vella, said that this year’s preparations had a very positive impact on the large attendance, the professional organisation and the enthusiasm of all attendees.
Rockestra’s Musical Director, Aurelio Belli, who also benefited from the help of The Malta Community Chest Fund, said that Rockestra managed to reflect the chosen theme, ‘more than a feeling’. He described yesterday’s show as a journey of many emotions with varied rock music from the seventies to this day.
Rockestra’s Artistic Director, Pawlu Borg Bonaci, expressed his satisfaction that even though 15 years have passed since the first edition of this event, people continue to attend in large numbers and this year’s atmosphere was incredible. He stated that Rockestra’s success is the result of people enjoying the music and at the same time being aware of helping those seeking the assistance of The Malta Community Chest Fund.
After the show, President Vella personally thanked all the artists, musicians and volunteers involved for their dedication to make this event a success. The President encouraged the public to continue taking part in the activities and initiatives that will take place in the coming weeks to raise more funds for The Malta Community Chest Fund.
Meanwhile, around the midpoint of Rockestra, President George Vella was presented with a guitar signed by all the artists who participated in all the editions held during his presidency.
