During the third meeting that President of Malta George Vella had with one of the regions in Malta, the President appealed for learning to discuss with more respect for others.
He said this when, together with Mrs Vella, he met with the mayors of the local councils forming part of Reġjun Xlokk (South-Eastern Region). During the meeting, the President heard about experiences that he admitted are present in every region, including experiences related to cleanliness, construction, and the environment.
The President explained how there were challenges that stood out in this region, such as integration, as well as the desire for more collaboration between local and central government.
Whilst expressing satisfaction for the participation of all mayors, he encouraged them to think of initiatives related to the national unity project.
The President of Reġjun Xlokk Paul Farrugia expressed his appreciation for this initiative by President George Vella, and said that this shows that the President believes in local government and wants to be close to all the people of Malta and Gozo.
