President George Vella, accompanied by Mrs Miriam Vella, left Malta this evening on a State Visit to Qatar.
During the visit, the President will have a meeting with the Emir of Qatar, Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani.
The delegation of the President of Malta includes, among others, Minister for Finance and Employment Clyde Caruana and Minister for Education, Sport, Youth, Research and Innovation Clifton Grima.
While the President is in Qatar, Professor Frank Bezzina will serve as Acting President of Malta.
The President and the delegation will return to Malta in the early morning of Wednesday 29th June.
