President George Vella announced that the Ball of the August Moon 2023 will be held on Saturday 5th August at the Verdala Palace gardens.
This will be the fifth and final edition of the Ball of the August Moon organised under the Presidency of President George Vella in aid of The Malta Community Chest Fund.
While thanking the organising committee of the Ball of the August Moon for their work in the past five years, President Vella augured that this year’s edition will be as successful as the balls of previous years. The President recalled that this event, which now features prominently in the Presidency’s calendar, is one of the biggest events held throughout the year to raise funds for The Malta Community Chest Fund. “This is not just something that people will pay to go and enjoy, but they will pay and at the same time they know that they are contributing to a just cause of strong social value”, said President Vella.
While remarking that there has been an increase in the number of people requesting the help of The Malta Community Chest Fund, including for the purchase of medicines and for when they travel abroad for treatment, the President said that the foundation cannot meet these requests without the funds raised during such events.
For his part, the Chairman of the Organising Committee of the Ball of the August Moon, Marchesino Daniel de Petri Testaferrata, thanked all the companies and entities supporting the Ball of the August Moon 2023.
