Libyan Prime Minister Abdul Hamid Dbeibeh called on President George Vella at Sant’Anton Palace this evening. Prime Minister Dbeibeh underlined the appreciation of the Libyan people for the friendship extended to the country by Malta. He also recalled the very sound commercial and people-to-people contacts that developed along the years. President Vella regretted the recent violent clashes that resulted in the loss of lives and expressed his hope for a democratic process to take shape, first of all through the holding of elections. He reiterated his hope for dialogue and stability to prevail in the interest of the people of Libya and broader regional stability.
