The Ambassador of the Sovereign Military Hospitaller Order of St. John of Jerusalem of Rhodes and of Malta presents his credentials to the President of Malta Marie-Louise Coleiro Preca
On the 16th February 2017, Prince Augusto Ruffo di Calabria presented his credentials to the President of Malta Marie-Louise Coleiro Preca, at The Palace, Valletta.
During the ceremony, the President of Malta and the Ambassador discussed bilateral relations.
Prince Augusto Ruffo di Calabria is an Italian entrepreneur, with an established career spanning over forty years, dealing in basic commodities and raw materials in the international market and within which he continues to be actively involved until the present day.
In October 2012, Prince Augusto Ruffo di Calabria was nominated Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Sovereign Military Hospitaller Order of St. John of Jerusalem of Rhodes and of Malta to the Republic of Kenya, a diplomatic mission which he still heads, and on 17th September 2013 he was appointed Permanent Observer of the Order of Malta to UNEP- United Nations in Nairobi. In Kenya he has been responsible for developing several successful humanitarian projects, which include the building of boreholes to ensure water supply.
Prince Ruffo di Calabria is the President of Corviglia Ski Club of St. Moritz since 1995. He is also Founder Member of Circolo della Caccia in Rome, Member of Clubino Dadi in Milan and Member of Circolo del Remo e della Vela in Naples.
He belongs to an ancient Italian noble family that can trace its origins to the Norman- Swabian warriors as far back as 1060, and many of its prominent members have been patrons of the arts throughout the centuries.
He is married to Princess Irma Cristiana de Windisch-Graetz and they have three children: Fabrizia Imara, Maria Scilla and Francesco.
He speaks Italian, English and French.
