Her Excellency Myriam Spiteri Debono attended the celebration of the National Day of the Netherlands, organised by the Embassy of the Netherlands in Malta.

 

In her speech, the President noted how, during 60 years of diplomatic ties between Malta and the Netherlands, the two countries have signed a wide range of bilateral agreements and collaborated in a number of sectors such as agriculture, education, the blue economy, and tourism.

 

The President also highlighted the close relationship that exists between the two nations, based on trust, common interests and aspirations, also strengthened by common European values.

 

Against the backdrop of the current geopolitical situation, President Myriam Spiteri Debono appealed for Malta and the Netherlands to continue to be advocates of the values ​​of the United Nations Charter and work towards world peace.
