On the occasion of the feast of St. John the Baptist, Her Excellency Myriam Spiteri Debono, President of Malta, attended a celebration organised by the Embassy of the Sovereign Military Hospitaller Order of St. John of Jerusalem, Rhodes and Malta.

 

In a speech on the occasion, the President of Malta spoke of the close link between Malta and the Order of St. John, which dates back 500 years and is evident in the cultural and architectural heritage that we still enjoy today.

 

President Myriam Spiteri Debono referred to the shared values ​​of compassion and humanity of Malta and the Order of St. John, and acknowledged the important humanitarian role that the Order plays today, especially with women, children and the most vulnerable, particularly in conflict zones around the world and in places where there is suffering and social challenges.
