This year’s edition of The Ball of the August Moon, in aid of The Malta Community Chest Fund, will take place on Saturday, August 1, at Verdala Castle.
Details of this event were given during a press conference during which it was explained how this year’s The Ball of the August Moon will uphold the tradition of top-quality food and drink, while attendees will also enjoy entertainment from the Armed Forces of Malta Band, with a varied repertoire of music followed by contemporary music and dancing until late into the night.
Addressing the press conference, Her Excellency Myriam Spiteri Debono described this Ball as one of the main activities that most generate the necessary funds for the Malta Community Chest Fund to continue fulfilling its mission.
Therefore, the President appealed for people to attend this year’s edition so it will be as successful as previous editions.
The press conference was also addressed by the Chairman of the Organizing Committee, Marquis Daniel de Petri Testaferrata, who recalled how this historic Ball has been organized since 1958, and as always will maintain the tradition of a high level of quality that makes this evening a memorable one.
For her part, Sina Bugeja, Chairperson of The Malta Community Chest Fund, mentioned that the Foundation assists all those who need it from the moment they are given the news that they are affected by the disease, as well as their relatives. Noting that the Foundation not only helps financially but also psychologically and socially, Sina Bugeja appealed for people to join and thus raise such important funds for the MCCF’s mission.
During the press conference it was also said that last year those in attendance were in for a surprise as a group of dancers created a dance through which they revived the legend of the Blue Lady, who is said to appear at Verdala Castle. Who knows if this year The Ball of the August Moon has another surprise in store for the evening?
