Three new non-resident Ambassadors present their credentials to the President of Malta

Three Ambassadors presented their credentials to Her Excellency Myriam Spiteri Debono, President of Malta, at the Presidential Palace in Valletta.

These are:

The Ambassador of the State of Israel, Her Excellency Ruth Cohen-Dar,

The Ambassador of the Republic of Korea, His Excellency Choon-goo Kim,

and

The Ambassador of the Republic of Liberia, Her Excellency Genevieve Kennedy.

After presenting her Credentials to Her Excellency, the Ambassador of the State of Israel spoke of the hopes that the State of Israel has following the ceasefire agreement earlier this month. On a bilateral level, she committed herself to working hard to strengthen people-to-people relations, especially in the areas of business, trade and tourism.

In his meeting with Her Excellency, the Ambassador of the Republic of Korea spoke about the good relations with Malta and how this year marks sixty years of these relations. The critical roles of Malta and the Republic of Korea in multilateral fora were also discussed, including in the United Nations Security Council, where both Malta and Korea were elected and served on the same Council.

For her part, the Ambassador of the Republic of Liberia highlighted her country’s commitment to continue strengthening bilateral relations. She also spoke about the prospects for collaboration between Malta and Liberia, especially in the maritime, agricultural and gender equality sectors.

During the meetings, President Spiteri Debono congratulated the Ambassadors on their appointment.
