On Saturday evening, H.E. Myriam Spiteri Debono, President of Malta, attended a commemorative evening organised by the Episcopal Conference of Malta together with the Apostolic Nunciature in Malta, as part of the celebrations of the 60th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Malta and the Holy See.
The ceremony was held at the Archbishop’s Curia with the presence and participation of Cardinal Pietro Parolin, Secretary of State of the Holy See, the Archbishop of Malta, Monsignor Charles J. Scicluna and also of the Apostolic Nuncio Savio Hon Tai-Fai, who will end his mandate in Malta in the coming days.
During the ceremony, the presentation of the book ‘Peter in the Island of Paul – Milestones in the History of Relations between Malta and the Holy See’ took place; an academic work by Reverend Dr. Nicholas Joseph Doublet with the contribution of photographer and designer Daniel Cilia.
There was also a presentation of the book ’60 Years of Diplomatic Relations Between the Holy See and Malta’ – a collection of writings by various scholars published by the Faculty of Theology of the University of Malta, and edited by Stefan M. Attard and Charlo Camilleri.
