Five service dogs have completed the training and preparation programme to be able to assist people various medical conditions, including diabetes and autism, in their daily lives.
Each dog costs around €15,000, but the voluntary organisation Service Dogs Malta Foundation takes care of all the costs of acquiring and training the dogs and passes them on free of charge to the people who will benefit. One of the dogs was sponsored by the Ministry for Inclusion and the Voluntary Sector.
