On Sunday morning, around 800 people participated in the second edition of The 10km L-istrina Palace Run, which this year linked Stan Anton Palace with the Presidential Palace in Valletta.
 
This run in aid of The Malta Community Chest Fund saw the participation of of all age groups, from children to the elderly, athletes and people who love running as a passion, with the first people completing the 10km run in just over 30 minutes.
 
At the end of the run, each participant was awarded a medal while the first three who classified in each category were presented with an token of the Presidential Palace in Valletta, presented by the President of Malta, Her Excellency Myriam Spiteri Debono.
 
Addressing those present, the President thanked them for their participation, and recalled how the donation linked to this run will be helping so many patients and their families who resort to the Malta Community Chest Fund for help.
 
Her Excellency mentioned that requests for help are constant and the needs continue to grow year after year, and explained how the assistance of the Malta Community Chest Fund goes beyond financial assistance, but also social and psychological support to so many people who are affected by the news that a person is suffering from an illness or medical condition.
