During a ceremony held at San Anton Palace, Her Excellency Myriam Spiteri Debono, President of Malta, presented the Pope John XXIII Award for Kindness 2026 to Jayana Chircop.

 

This award is organised by the Peace Laboratory, led by Father Dijonisju Mintoff, and recognises children who regularly perform acts of kindness towards other children in their daily lives.

 

This year, the winner Jayana Chircop, who is 11 years old, was recognised for her selfless and unselfish help to Cataleya Borg, a girl in her class who needs help and assistance.

 

In her speech following the presentation of the Pope John XXIII Prize for Goodness medal, Her Excellency Myriam Spiteri Debono, President of Malta, described Jayana’s genuine gestures as an example that adults should follow as a basis for peace between individuals and nations.
