Her Excellency Myriam Spiteri Debono, President of Malta, attended the ceremony during which Professor Frank Bezzina was officially appointed Rector of the University of Malta.

 

Professor Frank Bezzina succeeds Professor Alfred J Vella who had held this position for the past ten years.

 

The ceremony was also attended by the Honourable Robert Abela, Prime Minister of Malta, the Honourable Carmelo Abela, Speaker of the House of Representatives, the Honourable Byron Camilleri, Minister for Education and Sport, the Honourable Alex Borg, Leader of the Opposition, and various other authorities including Presidents and Prime Ministers Emeritus.
