During a courtesy visit at San Anton Palace, the Director of the Department of Information, Roderick Caruana, together with Assistant Director Joanne Sciortino Trevisan and Senior Manager Carl Farrugia, presented H.E. Myriam Spiteri Debono, President of Malta, with a copy of the commemorative publication issued to mark the 70th anniversary since the Department’s establishment.

 

The publication brings together 70 unpublished photographs, all taken by photographers from the Department of Information. Through these images, the book offers a behind-the-scenes glimpse into national and international events, state visits, as well as different aspects of everyday life in Malta over the past seventy years.

 

The President thanked the Department of Information for the professional work it carries out to document and preserve important moments in the nation’s history, while continuing to provide information of public interest to the Maltese and Gozitan people.
