During an event organised by the Mediterranean Tourism Foundation at the San Anton Palace, H.E. Myriam Spiteri Debono gave recognitions to foreign ministers, senators and mayors from countries around the Mediterranean for their commitment to sustainability in tourism.
In her speech, the President encouraged those present to continue working with a commitment to sustainable tourism, which offers a rich experience even with the help of modern technology. She indicated that this should be done at the same time that the industry preserves our heritage, and protects communities and the urban and natural environment, for the benefit of the present generation and those who come after us.
Among others, for this activity, which was part of the Mediterranean Tourism Forum being held in Malta, the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Foreign Affairs and Tourism, Ian Borg, and the Chairperson of the Malta Tourism Authority, Charles Mangion, were present.
