Her Excellency Myriam Spiteri Debono, President of Malta, attended the Europe Day celebration, organised by the European Commission Representation in Malta and the European Parliament Office in Malta.

In her speech, the President described this celebration as an opportunity to renew the European values ​​that unite us, but also an opportunity to reflect on the role of the European Union against the backdrop of the current geopolitical situation.

The President referred to the ideals and values ​​of the European Union; the values ​​of dignity and human rights, individual freedom, democracy, equality, the rule of law, and solidarity. Her Excellency described these values ​​as more relevant than ever and as strong principles that should continue to serve as our moral guide and compass.
