H.E. President Myriam Spiteri Debono attended the celebration of Italy’s National Day.

 

In her speech, the President acknowledged the strong relationship between Malta and Italy, which is based not only on geographical proximity, but also on friendship and the vision of dignity and peace in the Mediterranean region, which both countries emphasise.

 

In this regard, the President expressed the urgency that other countries such as Malta and Italy, use all their resources to continue to drive the peace agenda in the Mediterranean and in all regions, and in a particular and intensive way, she stressed the need to end the suffering that thousands of citizens, including women and children, are experiencing in the Middle East.
