The Malta Biennale 2026 catalogue was launched at the San Anton Palace and the publication was presented to Her Excellency Myriam Spiteri Debono, President of Malta.
The President of the Malta Biennale 2026, Mario Cutajar, explained that the legacy of the Malta Biennale 2026 lies in this publication which brings together all the art displayed in the second edition of the Biennale.
The President of Malta thanked all those involved in ensuring the high level of this second edition and a much wider participation from artists, participating countries and the public. She outlined that modern art should be a reflection of the pain that humanity is currently experiencing, ‘in real time’, where people are looking at innovative solutions resulting from human resilience and creativity, and above all an awareness of problems that we should all care about. The President wished the newly launched Malta Biennale Foundation fruitful work for the future.
The presentation was also held in the presence of the Artistic Director of the Biennale, Rosa Martínez and officials from Heritage Malta, the organising team of the Malta Biennale 2026 and UNESCO, represented by the Permanent Delegate of Malta to UNESCO, Monsignor Joe Vella Gauci.
The Malta Biennale 2026 is held under the patronage of UNESCO and the President of Malta.
