H.E. Myriam Spiteri Debono, the President of Malta, attended the celebration of the 211th anniversary of Police Day.

 

The activities began with a mass at the Capuchin Church, in Floriana, followed by a wreath-laying ceremony at the monument at the Police Headquarters, which commemorates officers who lost their lives in the line of duty.

 

When addressing the Police officers, the President referred to the transformation strategy of the Police Force, where she not only mentioned the increase in public trust in the work of the Police, but also the increase in synergy between the Police and the public.

 

In light of this, the President encouraged Police officers to continue to build on these results, so that the Force reflects and serves the needs of the Maltese citizens and those who have come to seek a better life in our land.
