During a ceremony organised by EkoSkola Nature Trust – FEE Malta, H.E. Myriam Spiteri Debono awarded recognition to schools that have achieved environmental sustainability targets set by the Eko Skola programme.
Also recognised during the ceremony were the Local Councils that contributed and assisted the respective schools in their localities, to carry out their environmental initiatives.
In a speech on the occasion, the President of Malta said that students are crucial to protecting the environment and influencing decisions so that they and future generations can enjoy a healthy environment.
She encouraged the children to believe in themselves and move forward with their initiatives, while making decisions based on the common good.
