President Myriam Spiteri Debono meets with Minister for Foreign Affairs of Antigua and Barbuda

President Myriam Spiteri Debono received Minister for Foreign Affairs, Agriculture and Trade of Antigua and Barbuda for a meeting at San Anton Palace.
Despite the geographic distance between the respective countries, Malta and Antigua and Barbuda share much in common.
Bilateral cooperation between the respective countries, which began during the Covid-19 pandemic, was at the centre of these talks.
Antigua’s status as host of the upcoming fourth International Conference on Small Island Developing States was also discussed. In particular, it was agreed that opportunities for further co-operation between the Malta-based Small States Centre of Excellence and the Small Island Developing States Centre of Excellence based in Antigua are to be further explored once the centre is launched.
Acting Foreign Affairs Minister Silvio Schembri was also present for the meeting.
