During their courtesy meetings with President Myriam Spiteri Debono, the newly appointed Ambassadors and High Commissioner reaffirmed their countries’ commitment to strengthening bilateral ties with Malta across various sectors.
The Ambassador of Kuwait expressed profound appreciation for Malta’s unwavering support, particularly during the Gulf War in 1990 and on other significant occasions. He emphasised the historical bond of mutual assistance between the two nations and reaffirmed Kuwait’s readiness to continue this collaboration.
In this spirit, he highlighted the strong cooperation in the field of health, exemplified by a number of Kuwaiti students pursuing studies at Maltese educational institutions. Furthermore, he underscored Kuwait’s efforts to open new commercial and trade avenues as part of a broader economic strategy, extending an invitation for Malta to be actively involved in these opportunities.
The Ambassador of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan outlined key areas for deeper collaboration, particularly in water management, renewable energy, education, and cultural exchange. Acknowledging the successful partnerships already established in education and health, he expressed Jordan’s strong interest in expanding and diversifying cooperation.
He noted that Malta’s expertise in certain industries could serve as a valuable model for Jordan’s development. The Ambassador also conveyed appreciation for Malta’s support in Jordan’s ongoing efforts to foster peace and stability in the region.
The High Commissioner of the People’s Republic of Bangladesh highlighted the deep-rooted cultural and human connections between the two nations, particularly in education and mobility.
