Two non-resident Ambassadors presented their credentials to Her Excellency President of Malta Myriam Spiteri Debono at the Presidential Palace in Valletta.
These are:
The Ambassador of the Republic of Kosovo Her Excellency Nita Shala,
and
The Ambassador of Nepal His Excellency Shanil Nepal;
The Ambassador of the Republic of Kosovo spoke about the Kosovan journey towards independence and access to basic human rights. The Ambassador explained how Kosovo has used its technological investment to attract individuals within the sector. The Ambassador said she looks forward to working on initiatives in the education and business sectors to promote business-to-business and people-to-people exchanges with Malta.
The Ambassador of Nepal acknowledged the cordial relations between Malta and Nepal and expressed his particular interest in addressing the needs of the Nepalese community in Malta, which consists of well over 11,000 nationals.
The Ambassador also spoke of potential areas of cooperation, including people-to-people connectivity, specifically where tourism is involved. He also pointed out Malta’s efforts and progress in the agricultural sector and said that Nepal looks forward to collaborating with Malta to acquire further knowledge on standard practices within this field.
During the meetings, President Spiteri Debono congratulated the Ambassadors on their appointment.
