The launch of the commemorative publication ‘25 for 25 – Heirlooms for Posterity’ took place at San Anton Palace; a collection of academic contributions by the Friends of the National Archives of Malta on the occasion of the 25th anniversary of the organisation.

In a speech on the occasion, H.E. Myriam Spiteri Debono, President of Malta, acknowledged the work of the Friends of the National Archives in preserving the history of Malta, through the documented heritage and memory of our country.

The President expressed the need for more people to come forward to voluntarily assist in archiving, or choose this vocation as their profession, as well as for students to be taught to appreciate the importance of Archives from a young age.
