The Malta Community Chest Fund and the Schiavone family will organise the second edition of the Cycling with Jack, which commemorates the memory of cyclist Jack Schiavone while raising funds for those in need.
Jack passed away following a battle with cancer, during which he was assisted by the Malta Community Chest Fund. His wife Caroline, together with her children, came up with the idea of Cycling with Jack to commemorate his memory and in recognition of the help they received during the difficult period of his illness.
H.E. Myriam Spiteri Debono, the President of Malta, acknowledged initiatives such as Cycling with Jack, which are based on the idea of families received assistance and who create initiatives to pay back the help they received.
“Relatives of those who received help approach us and ask us to now be the ones to help others. Caroline is a clear example of how to create a chain of people who help each other, and God willing, others will follow her example. The people should cooperate and take part in these activities, so that we can promote these acts of generosity.”
During the activity, which will take place on September 28, cyclists will cycle from Santa Clara College, in Pembroke, to Manoel Island and back. This while at Santa Clara College there will be activities and entertainment for the whole family.
Registration for cyclists who wish to participate is open and one can apply on www.mccf.store
