During the MASP Awards 2023, President Myriam Spiteri Debono presented ‘The President’s Award’ to Prof. Richard England for his outstanding contribution to Malta’s architectural landscape.
In her speech, she stressed the importance of implementing the recommendations of the Jean Paul Sofia inquiry with the utmost seriousness and urged authorities and stakeholders to collaborate in drafting laws and regulations to establish an effective system of inspections and controls.
The President called for increased protection of arable land and highlighted the importance of prioritizing the mental and physical health of the population over personal and egocentric interests.
