Her Excellency Myriam Spiteri Debono, President of Malta, attended the celebration of France’s National Day, organised by the Embassy of France in Malta.
In a speech on the occasion, the President spoke about the values of liberty, equality and fraternity that shape the French State, and defined them as socio-political ideals that still influence the social and democratic development.
The President recognised trade, tourism, culture, education and research as an integral part of the bond between Malta and France, and expressed the commitment of both sides for this bond to continue to be strengthened and the potential for a stronger relationship to be exploited.
The President also highlighted France’s role at an international level, in addressing global challenges such as conflicts and climate change, and expressed the need for all countries to show commitment towards lasting solutions built on dialogue and collaboration.
