Her Excellency Myriam Spiteri Debono, President of Malta, attended the King’s Birthday Party; the United Kingdom’s National Day. The celebration was organised by the British High Commission in Malta.

 

In a speech on the occasion, the President of Malta described the occasion as an opportunity to celebrate the enduring relationship between Malta and the United Kingdom, and an expression of the shared commitment to further strengthen this friendship for the benefit of the respective countries and peoples.

 

Her Excellency highlighted the cooperation between Malta and the United Kingdom in trade, tourism and culture, noted that the United Kingdom is home to thousands of Maltese, and acknowledged the collaboration of the British Government in facilitating the specialised care that hundreds of Maltese receive each year in hospitals across the United Kingdom.
