H.E. Myriam Spiteri Debono, the President of Malta, attended the Jum il-Kottonera concert, during which Ġieħ il-Kottonera was presented to Charles Coleiro, in recognition of his contribution to Cottonera, and his commitment to the Maltese language and history.

Addressing those present, the President of Malta acknowledged the commitment of the Kottonera Foundation, which was created and over the years has served the purpose of spurring a regeneration of the area, as well as preserving and safeguarding the historical identity of this part of our country.

The President also urged continued work so that Cottonera continues to provide opportunities to residents, to protect the unique character of the area and to cherish the traditions of the towns that form part of it.

During the evening, that was organised by the Cottonera Foundation, and took place at the Dominican Convent of the Annunciation, in Vittoriosa, the President was presented with a donation in aid of the Malta Community Chest Fund.
