The President of Malta, Her Excellency Dr Myriam Spiteri Debono, this morning paid an official visit to the National Audit Office (NAO).

 

In her speech on this occasion, the President of Malta said that the National Audit Office is part of the democratic format of our country and contributes to the rule of law.

 

The President also emphasised that the scrutiny carried out by this Office strengthens accountability and governance, and should be carried out in an objective, impartial manner and without being tainted by external influences.

 

At the end of the visit, the Auditor General presented the President with a donation in aid of the Malta Community Chest Fund, collected from activities organised for the employees, and their donations.
