The Ambassador of the Kingdom of Spain, H.E. Miriam Álvarez de la Rosa Rodríguez, presented her letters of credence to H.E. Myriam Spiteri Debono, President of Malta, at the Presidential Palace, Valletta.

 

The Ambassador spoke about how Malta and Spain have common historical roots, and stressed that they currently share the same vision in favour of promoting democracy and international law at a time when global complexities and challenges are increasing.

 

Her Excellency welcomed the Ambassador’s full commitment for both countries to continue working to expand the foundations of bilateral relations and for a stronger Mediterranean policy.

 

She also acknowledged the need for cooperation in international fora, including the United Nations and the European Union, of which both Spain and Malta are members.
