The Ambassador of the Republic of Italy, Her Excellency Valentina Setta, presented her letters of credence to H.E. Myriam Spiteri Debono, President of Malta, at the Presidential Palace, Valletta.

The Ambassador spoke about the excellent relations between the two countries, stating that she looks forward to further strengthening the bilateral relationship through initiatives in the diplomatic, cultural, and educational fields, such as the teaching of the Italian language in Malta.

For her part, H.E. Myriam Spiteri Debono expressed Malta’s appreciation for Italy’s cooperation in various fields since the beginning of the countries’ relations, and particularly noted the cooperation in the energy sector. She also referred to the meeting she had in January with Italian President Sergio Mattarella.
