The High Commissioner of the Republic of Ghana, Her Excellency Regina Appiah-Sam presented her letters of credence to H.E. Myriam Spiteri Debono, President of Malta, at the Presidential Palace, Valletta.
For her part, the High Commissioner of the Republic of Ghana, who is resident in our country, expressed her desire to strengthen ties between institutions and entities in order to promote people-to-people contacts and cultural relations. She referred to opportunities for cooperation in the energy sector, as well as inter-parliamentary exchanges, while noting that both countries could benefit from sharing each other’s experiences.
Her Excellency acknowledged that relations between the two countries have strengthened over the years, especially with the opening of the first Maltese representation in sub-Saharan Africa in Accra a few years ago. The President said that there is an opportunity to strengthen these relations, and mentioned the education and hospitality sectors as two niches that could be explored. The President also mentioned the importance of cooperation in the Commonwealth and other international fora.
