The High Commissioner of the Republic of Namibia, His Excellency, Veiccoh K. Nghiwete, presented his letters of credence to H.E. Myriam Spiteri Debono, President of Malta, at the Presidential Palace, Valletta.

During his meeting with the President of Malta, the Namibian High Commissioner expressed the desire for his country to expand bilateral relations in various sectors, particularly in the economic, social, tourism and educational fields. In particular, he noted that the Namibian education system could take the example and experience of Malta and adapt practices in this area.
For her part, Her Excellency Myriam Spiteri Debono, the President of Malta, agreed that there is room for work to be done to explore areas of cooperation, and also highlighted the importance of Commonwealth members working to build common relationships from their Commonwealth membership when they are in other international fora, such as the United Nations.
