H.E. Myriam Spiteri Debono, the President of Malta, met with the athletes who represented Malta at the Games of the Small States of Europe, held in Andorra, where they won the highest number of medals in an edition held abroad.

 

For the visit, which took place at the San Anton Palace, the athletes were accompanied by coaches and officials of the Maltese Olympic Committee.

 

Addressing the athletes, the President described them as an example to the Maltese and Gozitan people, for their determination, stamina and resilience, and acknowledged the role of those who assisted them in elevating our country’s name abroad. She congratulated them on their success.
