H.E. President Myriam Spiteri Debono hosted local Special Olympics Malta athletes for a reception commemorating the 25th anniversary of the organisation.

 

Addressing the athletes, the President described them as an example of courage and resilience, thanked them for their contribution to the country and society, and encouraged them to look ahead with confidence and positivity, and to be active citizens.

 

The President also thanked the Special Olympics Malta Committee and the volunteers who assist the athletes for their dedication.

 

The reception was also addressed by Dr. Lydia Abela, President of Special Olympics Malta.

 

During the evening, the President was also presented with a portrait created by athlete Dylan Lombardi.
