H.E. President Myriam Spiteri Debono inaugurated the A Maltese Artist in Rome exhibition, that commemorates the memory and works of Maltese artist Antonio Sciortino.

The exhibition focuses in particular on Sciortino’s ambitious concept to create a vast complex in honour of The Unknown Soldier. Sciortino presented this concept in Rome, in 1922, with the view of serving as a “shrine of the nations and the Unknown Soldier.”

The exhibition, at Società Dante Alighieri’s Palazzo Firenze is being organised by Embassy of Malta in Italy and supported by the Ministry for Foreign Affairs and Tourism, Heritage Malta and Visit Malta.
